Well, this had been a long and lingering question of mine since reading it in The Making of Jurassic Park book by Don Shay and Jody Duncan.
as most/all of us know Steven and Crichton were good friends before JP and it was out of that friendship that Mr. Crichton betrothed the rights for a Jurassic Park film to be made to Steven Spielberg. but still, as some of us know- there was an inevitable bidding war to come from movie companies that wanted to make the movie.

Once again- we obviously all know how it turned out... But that leads me to my "What if?" question.
How do you all think Jurassic Park, had it been made by someone else, would have turned out? A flop? Big hit? More like the book? Overly stylized? Gritty and real?
Would everything we know change? It's partly because of the original Jurassic Park we have such advance CGI graphics now. If JP was made by someone else, would they not have trusted computers like Steven had?
And then we have the sequals...
So many questions are possible- and here, I start this thread to discuss those possibilities.
