Well, thought I would get started with a JPIV thread. What is everyone expecting for the movie? These rumours of the military training dinosaurs has been proven fake by many people and I am glad that isn't the script .

well, I for one hope that wont be the script. Im hopeing to see the dilo again, and maybe a novel version of The Lost World. I think that would be cool to see. As for screen writer, maybe who wrote lord of the rings? I think they could shell out something food. And for a director Im not so sure on that.

I think this thread shall be sticky. Until the movie finally comes out whenever that may be (I might be in a retirement home when it does).

Neither would I. As long as there are no crime-fighting dinosaurs, i'm good.

I'm pretty skeptical of this "news" whether it just be a carrot or not, I'm all for another JP, but I'm sick of the f**king carrot dangling in front of my nose, so I'll ignore it till it becomes concrete news.

I can see something like that happening though. Look at the stats:
JP1 (realistic): very high grossing TLW (realistic): high grossing JP3 (kinda realistic) medium-high grossing
Maybe universal doesn't want "realistic" anymore and thinks mercenary dinosaurs would make them money? I hope not, but I dont know...

I dont know if I said this already. But I was kinda hopeing for a more TWL novel book. I mean all you really have to do is change some the characters. And some other little things and you have a new movie, which can have the chance to be a good movie. ;D

well... some of you may have already read this on JPT, but here it is again for InGen database. my Jack Horner meeting- --------------------
well, i went on my paleontology trip/expedition. and while i was there, actually the last day in fact, i got to meet Dr. John "Jack" Horner. It was pretty cool, but not as cool as when i actually asked him this on August 4th -
"Dr. Jack. Is there anything on a Jurassic Park 4?"
his response-
Quote: Actually yes. I just got a call from Steven [Spielberg] a couple of days ago. He said that we defiantly have a scrip writer, and possibly a script. So things are underway. And Joe Johnston will probably be the director.
so yeah... needles to say i was happy juts to hear it's being worked on. let's hope for a good movie....

DarkRex, I thought it was decided Joe Johnston wouldn't direct IV? I did not like JP3 but it was the script that sucked and so IMO it wasn't Joe's fault. I think with a strong script he could compete with Speilberg!

As I said at JPtoys:
I don't know why and some may bash me about this but I doubt JPIV is coming anytime soon if it is going to happen at all. None of the original cast will officially come back except Laura Dern (who is now married and has a son in the JP series), there is no script (that we know of) that Spielberg likes enough to make the film, JP3 was not a success compared to the first 2, and Jurassic Park just seems like such a last resort nowadays.
This letter says that there are three films being produced, none of which we can be sure enough about that can be about Jurassic Park. I think after the release of Indiana Jones, we'll hear some new rumor and it will be a 2010 release, again delaying the release date for all Jurassic Park fans. It's just the way it's been since the whole Jurassic Park IV thing has been announced. And the way things sound right now, I'd rather not have a new Jurassic Park film at all.
